We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior CNC Programmer to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of CNC programming in various industries, including aerospace, medical, automotive, and industrial sectors. This role requires exceptional programming skills, technical expertise, and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for complex machining operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
- Lead the CNC programming team, providing guidance, training, and support to junior programmers to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to review design specifications, recommend manufacturing processes, and provide input on design for manufacturability.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software, particularly Mastercam, to create 2D and 3D models, generate toolpaths, and simulate machining operations.
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including selecting tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters, to produce high-precision components.
- Troubleshoot programming and machining issues, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production flow.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements in CNC technology, and best practices in programming and machining techniques.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience as a CNC Programmer, with a demonstrated ability to program and troubleshoot complex machining operations.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, particularly Mastercam, and a strong understanding of CNC programming languages, including G-code and M-code.
- Extensive knowledge of machining processes, tooling selection, cutting parameters optimization, and fixture design.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and mentor junior team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Experience with multi-axis machining centers and advanced machining techniques is highly desirable.
- Critical need for proficiency in Mastercam.
Previous experience as a CNC Machinist is required to understand the intricacies of the role.
