POSITION SUMMARY
The CNC Programmer is responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Promote a strong quality culture throughout the company maintaining Cooper Steel’s core priorities: Safety, Quality, Production
- Organize a spreadsheet for personal record, capable of logging completion of tasks pertaining to each separate set of drawings (QC list, camber list, CNC files checked, tags completed, etc)
- Create a Quality Control list for each set of drawings to includes specific details
- Create and maintain a list of pieces that camber
- Condense Quality Control lists into lists of material that will need to be tagged.
- Retrieve CNC files from the drawings folder to import them into Raptor, review for accuracy and export the files to the proper machine file
- Alter/create any missing or incorrect CNC files
- Organize and file Sorted Materials List for record
- Inspect revised drawings for any necessary changes to CNC files, as well as quantities
- Send tag lists to the tag machine by importing the lists into the MCEdit program. Input coordinates for marking the tags. Operate the tag machine
- Print PDFs for fitters and welders as needed
- Be familiar with essential back up roles, such as creating programs for the pate machine, filling our Sorted Materials Lists, handing email requests, etc.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Prior experience in a similar role is required
High School diploma is required
