The Role
We are seeking a CNC Programmer/ Machinist responsible for taking jobs from 3D model or blueprints and produce finished parts for the GM Performance and Racing Team.
What You’ll Do
Program, setup tooling, basic inspection and finishing of the parts
Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications
Program mills and lathes utilizing manual G-Code Programming and CAM systems
Maintain part specifications by adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements specified by the manufacturer’s instructions
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership and exploring opportunities to add value to the team
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Minimum of 10 years machining experience necessary or equivalent
Significant CAM software experience preferably with Master cam
Sufficient 3D surfacing skills
Tooling speeds and feeds selection responsibility
Manual Mill and Lathe Experience
4 axis CNC Programming and operation
Utilization of GD&T standards
Interpersonal skills required to work with others from various disciplines and cultures.
Strong organizational skills to communicate technical data to colleagues and leadership
Must be willing and able to work days and afternoon shifts as required to meet demands
Strong level of analytical thinking

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
2 year college degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field
Experience operating and programming 4/5 axis CNC machines
Experience with both horizontal and vertical CNC machines
Familiar with UG and TeamCenter
CNC lathe programming and operation experience
Fanuc, Haas, Hurco, Fadal and Siemens controller experience
Understanding of the constantly evolving racing environment
