ThePortfolio Monitoring Analyst, as part of the Portfolio Monitoring Team, is responsible for the timely review of loans in the commercial portfolio to assess ongoing credit risk and identify deviations from agreed upon performance metrics. Additionally, the Portfolio Monitoring Analyst is responsible for the monitoring of asset-based loans, performing annual reviews and line of credit renewals, testing required loan covenants and raising credit concerns to the commercial banker and credit officer.


ThePortfolio Monitoring Analystshould strive to understand the client’s operating performance and needs, and work to build strong working relationships with bankers, portfolio managers, credit officers and other constituents.

FOCUS ON ACCURACY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL

  • Focus on accuracy and attention to detail in the calculation of ratios, percentages, and general math to determine proper lending decisions.
  • Complete timely annual review of existing commercial loans and renewal of lines of credit, including assessment of risk rating and testing of financial covenants. Works collaboratively with commercial bankers, portfolio managers, and other team members in the loan review and renewal process.
  • Works with commercial bankers and portfolio managers to obtain all information necessary to prepare an accurate write-up including financial analysis of credit and collateral of borrowers, with emphasis on data accumulation and trend analysis.
  • Provides timely and essential communication to all team members.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCES

Title of Portfolio Monitoring Analyst I, II or III is dependent on education level and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job requirement satisfactorily and a skills inventory is listed below. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, with related experience and secondary education preferred. Three years or more of general banking, credit analysis, financial services, commercial banking, or credit administration experience also preferred. Successful completion of required background checks is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents. Possesses professional communication and interpersonal skills to write and speak effectively both one-on-one and before groups of clients or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate to clients directly and effectively.


TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Ability to utilize telephone systems and possess good digital literacy including email, internet and intranet use. Prior experience or the ability to learn core transaction system and any other computer programs pertinent to performing job duties.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Knowledge in reading and interpreting financial statements required.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve exciting problems involving several variables in a standardized situation.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Representative of those that must be met by an employee to achieve success within this job position. This position operates in a professional office environment with considerable time spent at a desk using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Noise level is moderate with constant communication and interactions with others. Ability to travel on occasion to all market areas and attend seminars or training sessions offsite.
