Cna/Medical Clerical Position - Public Health Department

We are looking to hire a dedicated individual with a strong background in patient care and administrative tasks to assist in our mission of promoting Public Health and providing quality healthcare services.

Primary Job Duties:

• Provide direct patient care under supervision/ direction of clinical supervisor
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and other relevant patient information
• Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures, treatments, and examinations
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, ensuring infection control protocols are followed
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records and requests
• Greet patients and visitors, and provide them with assistance and information as needed
• Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or community resources as necessary
• Assist in maintaining inventory of medical supplies and equipment as needed
• Document patient care activities with accuracy and timeliness in accordance with health care standards
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and patient satisfaction
• Participates in health care outreach and initiatives through events, seminars and programs

Job Requirements:

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Maintenance of CNA certification throughout employment with CHD
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a Public Health Department
• Proficiency in medical terminology and clerical duties
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse or healthcare provider
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems
• Willingness to work efficiently and effectively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
• Participate in organizational education and training as requested

Other Qualifications and Certifications:

• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Community or Public Health experience preferred
