We are hiring for all shifts! We need staff who are compassionate and empathetic to care for our residents. You must be willing to follow our Bredesen based program which includes encouraging resident participation in their daily plan! Living a healthy lifestyle is also a plus! Memory Care experience is preferred.
We provide the space, food, staff, amenities and experience to implement the lifestyle changes necessary to support cognitive health. Our safe, respectful, full service senior home is designed to target the disease process. We offer an experience encompassing the best-in-class strategies currently known to have the ability to support brain function.
Primary Job Duties
- Communicate clearly with kindness, caring, calm, and compassion with cognitively impaired residents and co-workers.
- Assist and encourage residents in their afternoon activities.
- Follow schedule of activities as instructed by Activities coordinator.
- This may include but is not limited to walks, meditation, arts and crafts, sing alongs, yoga, puzzles, quizzes, games.
- Avoid any TV watching and more passive activities.
- Assist residents safely in and out of the casita.
- Care for and assist cognitively impaired residents by using techniques for addressing the unique needs and behaviors of individuals with dementia.
- Communicate understanding of the behavior of cognitively impaired residents respond appropriately to the behavior of cognitively impaired residents.
- Respond to resident requests and needs as they arise.
- Demonstrate understanding and support of Resident Rights by providing for resident privacy.
- Maintain resident confidentiality.
- Promote the resident's right to make personal choices to accommodate their needs.
- Support with ADL's.
- Reinforce behavior consistent with resident dignity.
- Assist residents to participate in activities.
- Assist residents with preparing for and eating meals.
- Assist residents in evening routine.
- Demonstrate understanding and support of Resident Rights by providing for resident privacy.
- Maintain resident confidentiality.
- Promote the resident's right to make personal choices to accommodate their needs.
- Reinforce behavior consistent with resident dignity.
- Observe residents for any changes in condition.
- Understand and follow all procedures as it relates to HIPPA compliance.
- Follow all safety guidelines and act immediately in any crisis.
In addition, you may be asked to support other staff in the following ways:
- Support Chef in cleaning up after Dinner.
- Assist with housekeeping to maintain the facility in a neat, orderly, calm and sanitary condition.
- Communicate with management regarding timely resident needs.
- Greet and assist visitors with signing in and out of the facility.
- Support residents in preparing for and getting the most out of visits from family, physical therapy, and other visitors.
- Assist resident in taking medications and supplements as prescribed by their ordering physician.
Compliance tasks:
- Report any abuse of any resident you witness. If you suspect but do not see abuse first hand you are still required to report the suspected abuse.
- Complete and maintain annual training through Relias.
- Maintain current CPR.
- Complete additional training in a timely manner as required by management.
- Report any and all equipment or facility maintenance concerns to management immediately.
- Report supply needs to inventory manager for resupply.
