Essential Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing services to each resident according to the resident service plan.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, hygiene, and mobility.
- Monitor health, safety and well-being of the residents.
- Document information pertaining to changes in residents’ functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc.
- Maintain an accurate record of chargeable services and submit record to supervisor by the designated date each month.
- Respond to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and arrange for appropriate medical attention and/or follow up.
- Launder residents’ clothing, linen and towels; fold and return to residents.
- Assist with minor housekeeping of residents’ apartments.
- Serve meals and bus tables during mealtimes as applicable.
- Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
- Encourage socialization among residents and promote activities, assisting with activities as requested.
- Chaperone activities outside the facility when requested.
- Maintain a safe, home-like, and pleasant environment for residents.
- Practice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils.
- Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
- At least one year experience as a CNA
- Certified Nurse’s Aide Certification
- Basic First Aid Training
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in working with older adults
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Promote teamwork in providing services to resident.
- State and Federal Guidelines for Assisted Living
- HIPAA requirements
- Safe food handling procedures
- Nursing standards of practice for older adults
- Skills in nurturing, organization, and interest in working with older adults
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior living
