The CMM Programmer/Operator will assist manufacturing and engineering on the best inspection practices for machined parts in an aerospace manufacturing environment. The operator will work with engineering to develop software programs for the Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and conduct inspections.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspection procedures
- Stage and perform size and positional measurements on product parts using manual and CMM surface-plate techniques
- Develop software inspection programs for the CMM
- Perform maintenance for the CMM as needed
- Must obtain DPRV certification
- Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful results.
- Engage with management regularly, reporting on status, activity, and achievements.
- Monitor processes, methods, and developing plans for increased efficiency.
- Coordinate with Engineers and team members to ensure quality products are completed on schedule.
- Operates within AS9100/ISO9001 requirements to include proper documentation, revision control, traceability and lot control.
- Comply with OSHA, health, safety, and environment requirements.
- May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.
- United States Citizen or Green Card holder
- Must be able to work with ITAR related data without restriction
- High school degree or technical certification
- 3+ years of experience as a CMM Operator/Programmer in a manufacturing environment
- DPRV certification preferred
- Prior experience with PC DMIS or GeoMeasure a plus
- Blueprint reading skills
- Familiar with GD&T (geometric, dimensioning and tolerancing) symbols
- Experience with precise measurement tools, such as calipers and micrometers
- Thorough understanding of machining math
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong listening and communication skills; both verbal and written
- Solid understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement Methodologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Manufacturing ERPs (Job Boss)
