Role Summary
The CMM Technician will operate a Coordinating Measuring Machine to verify quality components and tooling
Key Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned and required.
1. Write programs for check fixtures and part certifications
2. Calibrate hand tools, gages and associated maintenance and records of maintenance
3. Perform capability studies as required
4. Prepare dimensional reports and analyze them for correctness and initiate corrective actions as needed
5. Evaluate check fixtures to ensure they are adjusted and functioning properly and initiate corrective actions as needed
6. Develop gauging instructions and methods
7. Perform gage R & R's
8. Train employees in check fixture usage as required
9. Assist with sample submissions
10. Maintain gage records
11. Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa and Magna's operating principles
12. Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
• High School diploma or GED
• 2 - 5 years' experience with coordinating measuring machine preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficient in PC DMIS software
• Full knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Ability to do trigonometric functions, geometry and basic math
• Knowledge in the programming, operation and maintenance of Coordinate Measuring Machines
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings
• Must possess a working knowledge of SPC
