About the Role
Under the direction of the quality manager, the CMM Operator responsible to operate the coordinate measuring machines and to carry out a wide variety of duties in respect to maintaining the accuracy of our “master” measuring tools with a positive cooperative attitude supporting both the department and departmental leadership. CMM operators are expected to facilitate solutions and possess excellent listening, communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
Your Responsibilities
- Operate CMMs to ensure accuracy for correlations and other activities.
- Operate overhead cranes.
- Ensure all gauges and fixtures are maintained and certified.
- Perform capability / reliability studies.
- Support all special projects (i.e. SMR’s, Prototype, Repair).
- Provide support to Perceptron Technicians to resolve dimensional and gauge related issues.
Who we are looking for
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have experience running CMM programs or equivalent Coordinate Machine programming experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Exposure to Quality Assurance systems and requirements an asset.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Exposure to Quality Assurance systems and requirements an asset.
Your preferred qualifications
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities. Take initiative to follow through on completion of tasks/projects.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency to achieve results.
- Provide support to all departments to resolve dimensional related issues.
- Experience within the automotive industry
- Measure equipment and Metrology protocols.
- IATF 16949 experience.
