Area Sales Manager – Social Group and Banquet Sales - Non-Exempt

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Social Group and Banquet Sales Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the group and banquet segment for seven hotels, including renowned brands such as Choice, Hilton, and Marriott. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional sales and leadership skills, a strong understanding of the hospitality industry, and a proven track record in group and banquet sales. Please note that this position requires being out of the office 50% of the time and weekend work.

As a Area Sales Manager you will need to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and plans to maximize group and banquet revenue for the seven hotels under your purview.
  • Build and maintain relationships with venues, event planners, and other key stakeholders to drive group business and generate sales leads.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential business opportunities and emerging trends in the hospitality industry.
  • Collaborate with hotel sales teams to create and execute effective sales strategies that align with the overall business objectives.
  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through regular communication and personalized service.
  • Conduct site visits, presentations, and negotiations with clients to secure group and banquet bookings.
  • Coordinate with hotel operations and other departments to ensure smooth execution of events and group stays, including room block management, catering/F&B arrangements, and audiovisual requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify areas for improvement and capitalize on business growth opportunities.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and budgets for senior management, highlighting key metrics and achievements.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and participate in relevant trade shows, conferences, and networking events to enhance professional knowledge and promote the hotels' offerings.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior sales team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

To be successful as Area Sales Manager, you will manage wedding room blocks and events with or without group rooms. This position will focus on contracting business and obtaining new business. This position would book and cook their own business, they would do their own group resumes and enter room blocks/rooming lists.
