Cloud Operations Engineer

Siemens DI SW is looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining and supporting external cloud environments for customers and engineering divisions. Selected candidates will assume immediate roles in support of EDA cloud initiatives within DI SW and become an integral part of the cloud enablement team, focused on maintaining managed services and customer environments. The role will require deep understanding of ITIL, troubleshooting, and automating fixes within a secure enterprise network.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: Utilize knowledge of cloud architecture and necessary implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, containers, orchestration, scalability, etc.) to maintain Managed Cloud Services Ensure high availability of existing secure environments in external cloud space. Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot complex problems in public and hybrid cloud models and use internal collaboration tools to document efforts and resolution of customer issues. Communicate with customers and have investigative type questioning to help resolve their issues.

Use Linux and Windows skills to help configure hosts in secure environments using industry best practices and procedures. Expected to help deploy and maintain highly secure environments and to be proactive on driving projects to completion. Gather requirements, set realistic and attainable expectations with customers, work with engineers to deploy specific software, test, and document results.

Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure all aspects of providing a highly secure environment are met prior to giving access. Minimal Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field (may substitute for appropriate experience) 3-5+ years of experience maintaining and supporting a variety of IT cloud solutions Some exposure to common DevOps tools: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Packer, Git, and Docker Experience with the fundamentals of Linux and Windows administration and automation scripting languages (e.g., Shell script and PowerShell) Exposure to one of the major observability platforms - logs, metrics, and traceability. Familiarity with data security, data isolation, firewalls, and best practices in multi-tenant environment.

Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills - comfortable leading incident resolution Must have solid understanding of problem management, incident management, and change control processes. Experience supporting software development engineers. Must perform problem resolution in an effective and timely manner in accordance with SLA's and customer expectations.

Must understand networking protocols and be able to diagnose network related problems at the client level. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, partners, and customers - verbal and written Ability to develop and present technical concepts to a business audience Strong commitment to high quality work and timely deliverables Excellent organizational skills and time management Customer service skills are a must! Preferred: Familiar with SRE concepts - scalability, availability, maintainability, and portability Cloud operations certifications for at least one of the major providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Some experience with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, Agile, CI/CD pipelines, and common DevOps practices A collection of over 377,000 minds building the future, one day ata time in over 200 countries.

Siemens Software. Transform the Everyday The salaryrange for this position is $101,200 to $182,200 and this role is eligible toearn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on thesuccessful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, includingjob-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
