Job Description
Provide outpatient therapy services to individuals, groups, couples and families, in an office setting and off-site in the community.
Qualifications:
- Excellent grasp of clinical theory and application of evidence based practices in mental health and substance abuse issue affecting the geriatric population.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience post Master's Degree.
- Florida Licensed Mental Health Professional or Registered Intern.
Physical Requirements: Mobility throughout agency location and ability to sit through client sessions and meetings.
Education: Master's Degree from an accredited school, preferably with a major in social work, psychology, counseling, teaching or related field.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform therapy sessions with assigned clients & groups
- Return phone calls in a timely manner, usually within 24 hours
- Organize, develop and complete bio-psychosocial assessments, treatment plans and progress notes
- Meet agency's productivity requirements as determined by supervisor
Required Skills/Areas of Accountability:
- Ability to engage and work with the aging population
- Ability to work independently
- Capacity to understand the obligations, functions, programs and services of the agency and refer clients to other interagency programs and services within the community as appropriate.
- Ongoing interest in obtaining training to update skills and treatment interventions especially in the high-risk area of seniors and vulnerable adults.
- Strong ability to relate to other professionals and lay people in the community regarding JFCS, its mission, vision and programs.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with colleagues within and outside the agency.
- Excellent time management skills and effort to meet assigned situations and work demands.
- Ability to comply with all HIPAA regulations, keep confidential information about staff, clients, agency and the within the community in accordance with all current standards.
- Learn new agency Electronic Health Record.
- Ability to recognize one's own biases and to understand and control them.
- Manage monthly/quarterly or annual reports to government entities or funders of Aging Services.
