Clinical Trial Mentor- Part Time

Work Conditions:
Hours: Contractual hours vary but are typically 3 hours x 4 days. Availability is required over a 7 day working week. Times of the day worked will vary depending on the needs of the Trial / Location of trial respondents. E.g. Mentors should be available to trial participants on both the east coast and the west coast of the USA

Job Purpose:
Clinical Trial Mentors (CTM) is an Northern Irish based company that provides support and mentorship to Clinical Trials team and Clinical Trial participants in a way that leads to better Clinical Trial outcomes.

A mentor is responsible for a range of support across the duration of the Clinical Trial, including

• identifying, screening and documenting participants for Clinical trials conducted by the sponsor.

This involves:

• Making and receiving incoming calls from participants that have showed interest in partaking in the study
• Perform a structured medical interview to identify potential eligibility using manual and automated systems for Clinical Trial. For example, Redcap and google sheets
• Build and record a strong database of trial respondents for future studies
• Maintain and improve the recording of patient data
• Continue to engage the trial respondents regularly
• Continue to update and communicate with the clinical sites and the sponsor
• Work in compliance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
• Record hours worked
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures for trial participant engagement and processes
• Monitor task backlog for participant interactions
• Liaise with Trial Sites and Sponsor to record clinical data and delivery Clinical Trial participation

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Enthusiasm for helping people progress through Clinical Trials
• Good communication and listening skills that allows patient to feel comfortable when communicating on the phone
• Recording information accurately on Redcap, Google forms or similar
• Keenness to utilise the skills you have and a willingness to learn and develop more on the job
• Show initiative and demonstrate a problem-solving approach to the role
• Work within strict timelines

Skill Sets Essential/Competence :

• Experience and knowledge within a bioscience or PhD background
• Knowledge of common medical terms and medication in the setting of a Clinical Trial
• Basic computer skills in Google forms/sheets and Excel
• Work cooperatively with others in a small-company environment and communicate in a timely manner
• Experience in managing and tracking patient information (Excel sheets, google forms, Redcap and phone calls
• Ability to communicate to clinical study trial respondents in a respectful manner

Essential Qualification & experience :

• Experience in Clinical Trial research
• Good Experience and knowledge within a bioscience or PhD background
• Knowledge of medical terms and medication within Type 2 Diabetes, Insomnia and Anxiety
• Basic computer skills in Google forms/sheets and Excel
• Good Clinical Practice Certificate (Can be completed during training)

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: Up to $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 12 per week

Schedule:

• After school
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Weekends as needed
