Overview:

Our client, a provider of Health, Dental, Vision, Medicaid and Medicare Healthcare service plans in the state of California with 4.7 million members and $22.9 billion of annual revenues, seeks an accomplished Clinical Support Coordinator/Healthcare Customer Service.

*** Location: Remote Hybrid (Long Beach, CA 90807)

*** Duration: 6+ months

IMPORTANT:

Work Setup: Mostly remote but the client is looking for a candidate who can be in the office for meeting purposes (1-2 times a month).

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Process faxed-in authorizations, UM/CM requests, clinical documentation and/or calls left on voicemail.
  • Data entry including authorization forms, high-risk member information, and verbal HIPPA authorization information for case creation.
  • Research member eligibility/benefits and provider networks.
  • Perform telephonic member screenings to determine specific needs and services covered by the health plan; communicate and coordinate with PCPs, specialists, and other providers on behalf of members for specific BHT services including appointment scheduling.
  • Make outbound calls to providers for appointment availability and follow-up on additional clinical documentation requested.
  • Assign initial EOA days, or triage to the clinician, based on established workflow.
  • Document member-specific care coordination and follow-up actions promptly according to regulatory standards in the appropriate information systems independently and in coordination with case managers and other team members.
  • Support to Experienced/Advanced/Specialist CSC

Required Skills (top 3 non-negotiables):

  • Ability to enter data into the computer and extract information from databases including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and overall comfortability with electronic records systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with individuals internal and external to BSC including physicians, members, patients, and service providers.
  • Ability to identify problems and work towards problem resolution independently, seeking guidance as needed.

Software Skills Required: Proficient in Office Suite.

Preferred Skills (nice to have)

  • Customer service/call center experience 1-2+ years, 1 year of healthcare preferable
  • Knowledge of managed health care
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
