POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: STAFF REPIRATORY CLINICAL SPECIALIST/PHYSICIAN LIAISON
General:
The Staff Respiratory Clinical Specialist/Physician Liaison is responsible for assessment of client needs and the selection, instruction, education, follow up and troubleshooting of appropriate equipment and/or services provided to meet our clients’ needs. This position is directly responsible for establishing business pathways for patients through physicians and their prescribers.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Receives and documents the order for equipment and/or services from the referral source, physician, client, family member or caregiver.
- Assesses the need of the client and the best choice of equipment and/or services to meet those need involving the client, family and/or caregiver in the selection process.
- Collects additional information and authorizations as needed for patient account purposes.
- Provides instruction and on the proper us and care of equipment according to the written policies and procedures.
- Communicates with the client’s physician any changes in the client’s condition and/or needs and modifies client’s Plan of Care as instructed if applicable.
- Tracks and maintains follow up on preventative maintenance and scheduled visits for respiratory therapy equipment assigned to clients.
- Assists with scheduled visits of clients receiving respiratory follow up as needed.
- Rotates on call with other clinicians as needed.
- Completes client paperwork as assigned, including but not limited to the Plan of Care and assessments.
- Documents, dates, and initials all communication with client, family, caregiver, referral source, or physician in client chart or system in a detailed manner.
- Acts as a liaison between the company and the client, family, caregiver, physician, and other healthcare agencies and staff on the case pertaining to patient care issues only, not patient account issues which are the responsibility of Mountaineer Home Medical’s Director/Chief Operating Officer.
- Conducts, participates and attend educational meetings and seminars for healthcare workers, clients, families, care givers, physicians, and interested community member on areas of need.
- Provides client continuity of care by assisting with referrals to community agencies as needed.
- Develops and implements discharge plans for agency clients.
- Responsible for maintaining continuing education for licensure purposes.
- Is knowledgeable of third party reimbursement, criteria services, billing, client paperwork and equipment offered however, is responsible for directing all issues to Director.
- Provides client orientation and instruction of the proper use, maintenance, and safety of equipment, when necessary and insures that staff is trained in same as needed.
- Supports the efficient operation of the organization by informing the Director of areas of concern and problems to be resolved, whether they involve vendors, equipment, referral sources, clients, physicians, etc.
- Promotes or markets the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Maintains a neat, clean, properly uniformed, professional appearance at all times.
- Promote teamwork amount co-workers which include assisting other staff, as needed.
- Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity and patience when dealing with clients.
- Assumes other duties, within the scope of training, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician preferred Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Experience/Knowledge:
Clinical experiences and/or home care experience in the field of respiratory care. Thorough knowledge and skill related to the HME field is beneficial. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills.

Pay: $41.00 - $46.00 per hour
