Summary
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan is seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our growing multidisciplinary research team. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work with investigators and other team members to oversee the implementation of NIH funded research examining Alzheimer's and dementia care, medication prescribing, and serious mental illness among older adults. Candidate will lead team members and oversee study planning and progress. Candidate will prepare survey assessment materials, complete qualitative interviews and analysis, conduct telephone, computerized, and/or paper-pencil assessments, and maintain IRB and other regulatory approval of projects. Demonstrated research experience is required including direct experience with IRB-approved research. Experience with qualitative work is desired. Additional study tasks may be assigned as needed, including running and creating reports and contributing to posters, presentation, grant applications, etc.

Responsibilities*
Position Specific Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintaining oversight of project goals and research assistant staff.
  • Coordinating with the Principal Investigator (PI) and project management team to report study progress
  • Supervise research assistant staff
  • Create and maintain IRB and other regulatory applications and approvals.
  • Manage outside vendors
  • Undertake special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Behavioral Sciences, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Certification is required through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) as a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or equivalent and must be achieved by January 1st, 2024. After January 1st, 2024, certification is required within six month of date of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in research.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Should be organized and possess strong attention to detail.
  • Must be motivated to learn and capable of working in a team and functioning independently
  • Have the ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines

Desired Qualifications*
  • 6 or more years of directly related experience
  • Previous coursework in Social Work, Public Health, or a similar field is highly desirable.
  • Experience contributing to or leading scientific writing (i.e. for a peer-reviewed publication) and/or experience in qualitative research would be ideal.

This position will require some in-office work based out of the North Campus Research Complex on the Ann Arbor Campus. Hybrid schedules may be possible.
