ResponsibilitiesAs part of FSU College of Medicine (CoM) Network for Clinical Research, Training and Community Engagement (NCRT-CE), this Clinical Research Consultant (CRC) position serves as liaison between faculty, staff, researchers and students conducting medical/Clinical Research in community-based healthcare settings and helps build and proactively expand the research infrastructure across FSU and the UF-FSU Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA).
Oversees, tracks, facilitates and documents research procedures and progress, providing recommendations to research teams. Responsible for identifying and managing diverse sources of medical information and research data typically through interactions with FSU researchers and partner clinics. This position will be located at the main campus in Tallahassee, FL. May travel to multiple sites in primarily the Tallahassee area, but also the Orlando area, to provide study training to clinicians and staff, facilitate implementation of study protocols, problem solve study-related issues, and attend research meetings.
Collaborates with a variety of professionals, including faculty, staff, and healthcare providers. Facilitates the development and implementation of Clinical Research protocols and assists with regulatory support such as IRB applications and continuing reviews as necessary. Provides data management and analysis support, including REDCap and Qualtrics database development for projects, supporting security of research data in compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient health information privacy and security. Assists with participant and site recruitment as needed.
Supports, facilitates and coordinates daily, weekly and long-term activities of clinical and human subjects research conducted at FSU. This position builds relationships and assists in the coordination of Clinical Research projects being conducted within the FSU Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA), assuring that FSU maintains collaborative role in the CTSA hub.
Supports the expansion of community engagement efforts across the College of Medicine and CTSA. This includes assisting with the CTSA Community Engagement Core activities, which aim to identify and address health disparities in vulnerable populations, e.g., rural communities, etc., though relevant research, community outreach, engagement and education, and through programs and partnerships. Assists CTSA faculty and staff working in community engagement with developing stakeholder groups for underserved populations in Florida and establishing partnerships with government and community health partners. This position helps support the Network for Clinical Research, Training and Community Engagement in serving as liaison with community partners, nonprofit agencies, and local city and county governments in the Panhandle region.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree and two years of experience in a health-related field; or high school diploma/equivalent and experience in the same equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
A valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a health-related field.
