Chief Purpose of the Position
- Monitor all dental student's compliance within the standards for records management.
- Assign patient cases to students based on requirement needs.
- Monitor and report on timeliness and sequencing of care.
- Chart audits performed daily for the School of Dentistry.
- Monitor and report for standing committees with a focus on quality assurance (Manager position will oversee QA working group)
- Maintain and monitor all written correspondence with a patient or student regarding assignments and inactivations.
- Assist Patient Services Representatives in handling complex questions from students and patients regarding insurance processing and financial support, as needed.
- Monitor patient flow between predoc clinics and graduate clinics to ensure a smooth and timely hand-off.
- Perform exit audits for the School of Dentistry.
- Prepare for Wednesday PM screenings including seating, dismissing and student assignment.
- Assist with quality assurance for accreditation requirements.
- Provide assistance with the RCC and CC teams, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dental practice or dental school
- In-depth knowledge of surgical and dental terminology as well as healthcare regulations
- Excellent customer service and willingness to assist students, staff, and faculty required
- Computer skills required -working experience with an EHR system (Axium, Cerner, Dentrix, IDX, Eaglesoft, Epic)
- Excellent collaboration and leadership skills and the ability to work within a team efficiently and effectively
- Ability to work in a diverse environment required
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and superior customer service skills required
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule - may require remote working
- Knowledge of dental procedures and insurance
Education Level and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment
- Experience within an academic clinical setting or dental practice
- Experience in reviewing and auditing patient charts
Hiring Range: commensurate with experience
