Clinical Program Assistant

Monday/Wednesday 10:00AM-1:00PM, and as needed.
Assist in the delivery of health care services and patient care management by measuring vital signs, measuring height/weight, performing lift testing, collecting urine samples for drug screening and dipstick UA screening, perform breath alcohol testing, and aid in all aspects of reporting collection issues to the client companies.

Responsibilities
Patient Care and Clinic Support
• Conducts patient drug and alcohol screens in accordance with company protocols including documenting on required forms, instructing the patient about the process and packaging the sample for shipment.
• Performs physical work ups in accordance with company protocols including lift test, dip UAs, and audiograms.
• Assures adequate drug and alcohol screenings supplies are available, and patient care areas are clean.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria
• Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
• Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
• Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
• Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
• Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Experience:
License(s)/Certification(s):
• Breath Alcohol Training certification within 60 days of hire; must be maintained thereafter
• Drug Screen Collection certification within 60 days of hire; must be maintained thereafter
• Training will be provided to perform breath alcohol tests, drug screen collections, and audiograms in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• CAOHC (audiogram) certification no more than 8 months from hire; must be maintained thereafter
• Valid driver license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
