Job Summary and Qualifications: At Zentech Health, we are in search of a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist with critical care or infectious disease training to join our esteemed healthcare team. The role of the Advanced Clinical Pharmacist – Critical Care is integral to our mission and values. This professional is responsible for the safe, effective, evidence-based, and cost-effective selection and utilization of medications for patients in the ICU. This position demands advanced knowledge, skills, and professional judgment in all aspects of pharmaceutical care. The Clinical Pharmacist serves as a patient advocate, collaborates within a multidisciplinary rounding team, and promotes pharmacy services within the hospital through various initiatives, all while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and medication safety guidelines.

In this role, you will:

  • Play an active role in facility committees responsible for developing and implementing medication-related policies and procedures within the ICU.
  • Take primary responsibility for overseeing the critical care service line within the hospital.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize drug costs through appropriate drug utilization and cost-containment measures.
  • Participate in onboarding and staff meetings with the ICU team, providing valuable insights into clinical pharmacy services, new drugs, and updated clinical guidelines.
  • Interpret and accurately transcribe orders into the pharmacy computer system.
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals with precision.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
  • Maintain the hospital formulary, reduce non-formulary procurement, and support rational drug therapy selection.
  • Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.
  • Assist with clinical services, including drug consults, nutrition support, Pharmacokinetics, and more.
  • Document all clinical activities and interventions thoroughly.
  • Prepare notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drugs reactions.
  • Efficiently supervise pharmacy operation activities and support the pharmacy team.


Requirements

Education:

  • BS or Masters in Pharmacy
  • Graduate of a college of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education
  • Graduate of an accredited PGY-1 residency program (Required)
  • Graduate of an accredited PGY-2 residency program (Preferred)

License/Certifications:

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy

Experience:

  • 3 years of acute care experience as a Pharmacist (required)
  • Five years of inpatient hospital experience (Preferred)
  • Three years of inpatient hospital experience (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Infectious Disease/Critical Care in addition to a residency in Infectious Disease or Critical Care
