About the Team:

The Clinical Pathology Services department for Early Development focuses on animal health using bodily fluids, such as blood and urine, for analysis utilizing automated analyzers in the fields of chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and coagulation. The data that is produced is then utilized and reviewed/interpreted by certified clinical pathologists to determine if a proposed drug had any in vivo effects. This is an excellent career alternative outside of a hospital or clinic for candidates pursuing their Medical Technologist degree.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Obtains raw data from operational staff and conducts timely data back entry of study related data into data acquisition database. (50%)
  • Drafts data tables from manually collected data and verifies data for accuracy.
  • Conducts timely and accurate quality control for study related data. (20%)
  • Supports Account Set up Associates and QC reviewers.
  • Recognizes deviations from normal or expected outcomes based on known reference standards and makes recommendations to supervisor. Carries out decisions independently as pre-determined appropriate.
  • Trained in certain tasks within the lab.
  • Audits/Inventory
  • Works under occasional supervision.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Education:
  • Pursuing a Medical Technician (MT)- Associate's or a Medical Technologist (MLT)- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology, or taking courses from an accredited institution that includes the following: combination of chemistry, biology, or medical technology
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's of Science degree in relevant biological or chemistry discipline- with experience in a research and/or academic laboratory.
