Salary Range: $47.8400 - $74.1000 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
The Clinical Nurse II – Perioperative role provides direct patient care by the Nurse Practice Act for assigned patients in a Perioperative unit. The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administration, specimen collection, meeting nutritional needs, and teaching and discharge needs of the patients assigned. Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed, and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions. Performs other duties as assigned.
Additionally, the Clinical Nurse II meets the requirements outlined in the Clinical Ladder program respective to his/her department. The Clinical Nurse III demonstrates a commitment to hospital involvement and professional growth by participating in committees, attending related meetings, and presenting education projects and/or supplemental activities.
Education and Experience
- Clinical Nurse II's at Magnet-designated facilities only require a BSN or that a BSN program is started within one year of the hire date and a BSN degree is attained within two years of the starting of the BSN program. BSN preferred.
Additional requirements for specific departments are as follows:
- Experience in cardiac telemetry is required.
- Two years’ of nursing experience is required with at least one year of experience in the HVI area of specialty.
- Successful completion of an ECG test is required.
License Required
- Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing.
Certifications Required
- Current BLS certification before clinical rotation
- ACLS
