Description:
- Reporting to the Director of ICU, the Clinical Nurse will provide bedside care to PACU overflow patients.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborative planning, coordinating, and delivering quality care to medical, surgical and telemetry patients that are acutely ill, as well as those recovering from post-operative procedures, such as bariatric and orthopedic procedures.
- Facilitate best practices to deliver quality care through the identification, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions and communication of results to the healthcare team.
- Provides education to patients and their families on medical and post-surgical care.
What you will need
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
- Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification required (issued through the American Heart Association)
- Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities
- Competency in electronic patient management systems
Preferred:
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting
- ACLS recommended
