Specific job responsibilities:
1. Performs core measure chart abstraction both concurrently and retrospectively, and provides compliance report; retrieve, compile, and enter Core Measure data for ongoing tracking and studies into selected computer program.
2. Researches thoroughly and collects all information regarding Core Measure indicators and other quality metrics, interacts with involved individuals in a timely manner.
3. Assists in the development of appropriate forms for data collection and analysis.
4. Assists in constructing of focused assessment studies when problems are identified or opportunities to improve patient safety, care and services arise
5. Maintains own professional growth through the utilization of professional organizations, seminars, in-service programs, and other self-directed learning activities.
6. Maintains awareness of current development and trends in Quality/Performance Improvement.
7. Demonstrates interpersonal competencies such as problem-solving, negotiating, problem solving and communication
9. Relays appropriate information to the designated Quality Department staff.
10. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Ability to organize workflow, function independently and manage own time and work tasks
EDUCATION:
- NJ licensed RN
- Associate Degree Preferred or 2 years prior Core Measure Abstraction and other abstraction (complications, medical staff reviews) experience
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 Years Prior Clinical /Core Measure Data Abstraction Experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access and graphic presentation of data and quality improvement techniques preferred.
