JF&CS is now seeking a full-time Clinical Intake Specialist.


PURPOSE:

JF&CS Atlanta Clinical Services Team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Intake Specialist. The Clinical Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth and efficient intake process for clients seeking mental health services. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of mental health procedures, and the ability to provide empathetic support to individuals in need. The Clinical Intake Specialist will be willing to provide services in a variety of community locations including but not limited to the Dunwoody office and/or telehealth platforms.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct preliminary assessments to determine the appropriate level of care and services required by each patient.
  • Accurately record client information, health history, confirm insurance details, and any other pertinent data in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Review insurance coverage and benefits to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Coordinate appointments for clients with the appropriate clinical services, considering urgency and availability.
  • Provide information about available mental health services, treatment options, and the intake process.
  • Maintain clear and empathetic communication with clients, families, and referral sources to answer questions and address concerns.
  • Work closely with clinical staff, administrative personnel, and referring providers to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy standards in handling sensitive client information.
  • Handle crisis situations effectively, utilizing appropriate protocols and providing necessary support to clients in distress.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards related to mental health services and client intake procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the intake process, streamline workflows, and improve overall client satisfaction.
  • Generate accurate reports and statistics related to client intake, referrals, and other relevant data as required by management.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in mental health intake procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • May be required to work some evening hours to meet client demand.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience in a similar role, such as intake coordination, client support, or healthcare administration.
  • Knowledge of mental health terminology, diagnostic criteria, and treatment modalities.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes and billing procedures is a plus.
  • Understanding of clinical ethics, client confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Willingness to learn about Judaism and Jewish families.
