Job Responsibilities:

• Provides engineering support, preventative maintenance, evaluation of equipment, computer software and instrumentation for Cleveland Clinic.
• • Maintains documentation of equipment, inventory, maintenance agreement, service logs, and project work in CMMS platform
  • Performs incoming inspections of new equipment and completes documentation for CMMS database.
  • Creates, modifies or customizes sytems, components and mountings to support clinical operations.
  • Provides on the job cross training to fellow technicians for devices they are knowledgeable with
  • Leads projects and initiatives within assigned work group

  Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology required.

  Certifications:

  • None required.

  Competencies (Complexity of Work):

  • Position will provide daily support for complex medical systems
  • Job functions entail a degree of technical expertise on the assigned equipment and the ability to function independently in both a technical and administrative capacity.
  • Knowledge of complex electronic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems related to the assigned complex medical system, In-depth knowledge of engineering theory and principles related to the assigned complex medical system.

  Work Experience:

  • Prior Clinical Engineering experience preferred.

  Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use tools and work on small mechanical parts.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.

  Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment.
