Clinical Documents Processing Technician
The Clinical Documents Processing Technician is responsible for maintaining the electronic health record in the Arrow system; processing, scanning, or uploading documentation to the electronic health record; maintaining a reference book of documents received and understand the appropriate place to upload each document in the Arrow electronic health record. Provides reception/front desk area coverage as assigned; assists with retrieving mail from the mailroom for processing, when needed; generates letters and labels to accompany outgoing documentation; sends outgoing mail; copies documentation as needed; processes Individual Plan of Service documentation and Addendums; faxes Individual Plan of Service and other Clinical Documents to external providers as needed; completes various projects as assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
  • High school education with relevant business courses or certifications preferred.
  • Minimum two years' experience with recordkeeping and/or document management in an office environment.
  • Demonstrated skill in typing, basic composition, numerical and alphabetical sorting, and spelling.
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience implementing electronic health records protocols and demonstrated knowledge of electronic health records systems preferred.
  • Experience using ARROW, OnBase, other CLS databases and MHWIN preferred. Ability to work independently and to prioritize responsibilities to meet work, timeliness, and volume expectations.
  • Ability to communicate with others both verbally and in writing, and ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others to meet departmental objectives.
  • Experience implementing HIPAA rules in a healthcare setting and maintain strict confidentiality of information.
  • Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and other relevant software/programs required.
  • Ability to represent the Department and the Agency in a positive manner; maintain favorable relations with internal and external contacts.

About Us:
Community Living Service's Wayne County division, located in Wayne, Michigan, provides supports for people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Wayne County. We assist people in developing a Person-Centered Plan and then create an individualized budget based on that plan. Our contract with the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority (DWMHA) is designed to assist people in developing and controlling individualized budgets to pay for their authorized supports and services. This puts the resources in the hands of people and their families so they can judge whether the services are of good value to them so they can make their own life decisions.
CLS connects people/families with qualified individuals and Provider agencies and can assist in the interview process to help people decide who they would like to provide their services and supports. A Fiscal Intermediary will then make payments on the person's/family's behalf for the services chosen and will provide a monthly report, so everyone knows how much their services cost and how much money is left in their individualized budget. This offers flexibility and creativity regarding how to use the financial resources and whom to choose for services and supports.
