As our next Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will work under the general direction of the HID CDI/Core Measures Supervisor or Manager, with responsibility for improving the overall quality and completeness of Clinical Documentation.
Summary of Duties:
- Facilitates modifications to Clinical Documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and medical records coding staff to support the level of service rendered to all patients as assigned
- Provides clarity of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and medical center outcomes which incorporates current DRG methodologies (e.g. MS-DRG) by CMS and/or other regulating/quality reporting bodies (e.g. APR-DRG)
- Educates all members of the patient care team on an ongoing basis
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Required.
Bachelor's degree in nursing or health information management Preferred.
Foreign Medical Degree may be considered.
Licenses:
RN State License -Current RN license (not limited to State of California) or higher clinical degree (i.e. MD), or Registered Health Info Admin, or Registered Health Info Tech Required;
Clinical Documentation Improvement Professional - or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist Preferred
Experience:
Acute Care Experience - 3 Years Required
Utilization Review, Coding, or Case Management experience - Preferred
Physical Demands:
