POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager of Clinical Documentation and provides administrative support for various projects.
What you'll do:
- Prints all necessary reports to aid in verifying the medical record complete for claims submission.
- Verifies insurance for individual patients.
- Monitors and reports any eligibility changes to the correct departments.
- Updates billing rules to the correct payer.
- Helps to review Clinical Documentation to verify that it meets billing requirements for specific insurances.
- Reach out to other members of the staff to obtain missing or corrected documents.
- Assists the billing department in any additional tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you need:
- Associate’s degree
- Experience in an office setting
- Previous experience in an administrative support role
- Working knowledge of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
- Experience with Home Health Care billing processes (preferred)
- Experience with Medicare rules and regulations (preferred)
- Billing or coding certifications (preferred)
