Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Documentation Specialist reports to the Sr. Manager of Clinical Documentation and provides administrative support for various projects.

What you'll do:

  • Prints all necessary reports to aid in verifying the medical record complete for claims submission.
  • Verifies insurance for individual patients.
  • Monitors and reports any eligibility changes to the correct departments.
  • Updates billing rules to the correct payer.
  • Helps to review Clinical Documentation to verify that it meets billing requirements for specific insurances.
  • Reach out to other members of the staff to obtain missing or corrected documents.
  • Assists the billing department in any additional tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you need:

  • Associate’s degree
  • Experience in an office setting
  • Previous experience in an administrative support role
  • Working knowledge of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with Home Health Care billing processes (preferred)
  • Experience with Medicare rules and regulations (preferred)
  • Billing or coding certifications (preferred)
