Summary:
The role of the Clinical Director is to oversee the therapeutic component of a particular service location. Within this role, the Clinical Director is responsible for oversight of the Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts, Registered Behavior Technicians, client programming, client behavior protocols, addressing client caregiver concerns, and any staff concerns. The Clinical Director also analyzes data collected by behavioral therapist and program supervisors to determine if the interventions they created are effective in creating the desired behavior change for the client. If they are not, the Clinical Director must implement new strategies utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to bring about the desired behavior.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Run and conduct weekly BCBA/BCaBA meetings
- Meet with BCBAs individually twice per month to review cases, behavior protocols, acquisition targets, and any staff or client concerns
- Review reports for initial and re-evaluations prior to submitting to insurance
- Review authorization paperwork prior to submitting to insurance
- Assist BCBAs with insurance calls regarding authorizations and appeals
- Have extensive knowledge and maintain updated information regarding insurance requirements, codes, billing practices
- Ensure all staff are familiar with company rules and protocols as it pertains to their role.
- Maintain safety-care trainer certification status
- Conduct performance reviews for BCBAs, BCaBAs with Human Resources
- Participate in performance reviews for Scheduling Coordinator, Intake, Administrative Assistant, and Human Resources
- Attend conferences to maintain CEUs and to increase knowledge base in order to appropriately lead supervision staff
- Oversee all work of the BCBAs and BCaBAs to ensure that timelines are met and maintained, and to ensure that staff are following the policies and procedures of the company
- Provide input for documents regarding client and staff policies and procedures
- Conduct meetings with Intake and Business Manager/Assistant Business Manager to gain knowledge on waitlist, discuss what clients will be coming on next, and discuss required missing documents from client caregivers or BCBAs/BCaBAs
- Conduct meetings with Business Manager and Scheduling Coordinator to ensure that any scheduling updates for clients are communicated, set plans for upcoming schedule changes (i.e. staff departures, new staff starting, client schedule changes, new clients starting, etc.)
- Conduct weekly meetings with Business Manager/Assistant Business Manager and Human Resources to discuss staff concerns, and current staffing needs
- Maintain client roster spreadsheets for budget by set timelines
- Serve as a leader for the company and ensure that all staff meet the core values of the company
- Conduct interviews as needed for direct care staff, supervisory level staff, and any applicable administrative roles
- Propose changes in processes or other company concerns to the Chief Executive Officer
- Supervise and/or oversee supervision of BCBA and BCaBA student residents
- Maintain documentation for supervision students
- Coordinate Saturday community trainings
- Maintain communication with various referral sources and community groups for marketing
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be proficient in systems such as Central Reach and SharePoint utilized by the company
- Must be able to make quick decisions taking all effected roles into account and ensuring that decisions benefit of the company
- Must be able to provide clear and concise verbal and written communications
- Must be able to provide direct feedback to various positions within the company.
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be able to provide timely follow-ups to vendors and clients
- Must be efficient with timelines
- Must hold direct care and supervision staff accountable for not following policies and procedures
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to travel in and out of state
Education:
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst - must be current
- Licensed Behavior Analyst
