About Mountain Vista Medical Center
Mountain Vista Medical Center is a 178-bed, state-of-the-art hospital located in east Mesa, Arizona, offering comprehensive health care services, including emergency care, heart care, advanced surgical procedures, orthopedics, breast care, maternity care, and women’s services. Florence Hospital, a campus of Mountain View Medical Center, is a 36-bed hospital offering emergency care, as well as surgical, imaging and laboratory services to residents of Pinal County. Our patients have access to a full range of excellent health care across our two campuses.
Summary
As a member of the healthcare team, the Clinical Dietitian coordinates the nutrition care of the patient and provides clinical nutrition guidance in accordance with physician orders and evidence based guidelines. Conducts nutrition assessments as triggered under mandatory nursing 24 hour admission assessments or at any time during patient admission. Develops appropriate plan of care and communicates with the multidisciplinary team verbally and/or electronically. Conducts reassessments based on nutritional risk assigned and/or change in patient condition or needs. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the patients and interpret guidelines to meet age specific needs. Demonstrates respect for the diversity of people in regards to age, culture, values, beliefs and other socioeconomic issues. Effectively interacts with peers, managers, and other team members and maintains confidentiality as related to job duties. Participates in hospital and department performance improvement activities as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with completion of a dietetic internship or a Master’s degree.
Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or Registered Dietitian Eligible pending examination.
Registered Dietitian Eligible employees must pass the exam within 90 days of hire or face disciplinary action including possible termination of employment.
Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages helpful.
Must possess good computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
