Job description

Summary:

The Child Mind Institute is seeking a Clinical Data Analyst to join the Healthy Brain Network (HBN) and Youth Mental Health Academy research teams. HBN is a research initiative aimed at collecting imaging, genetic, and phenotypic data from 10,000 children and adolescents throughout NYC. All participants who complete the study receive a free, no-cost mental health and learning evaluation that also includes speech and language screening assessments. YMHA is a community-based program for students from structurally marginalized communities in California. The program provides students hands-on learning in mental health science, practice and communications through Project-Based Learning, Mentorship, and Internships.

The Clinical Data Analyst will assist the operations team in creating reports that track study metrics and milestones. The Clinical Data Analyst will also be instrumental in ensuring quality and completeness of all phenotypic data collected for HBN. The Clinical Data Analyst will additionally have the opportunity to assist with data analysis for research projects leading to presentations and posters.

Reporting into the Research Scientist of Data Informatics and Sharing of Knowledge (DISK) Core, this is a non-exempt, full-time position, located in our NYC headquarters office (215 E 50th St 10022, hybrid schedule).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system development and maintenance activities
  • Assist with Ecological Momentary Assessments (EMA) data in Mindlogger
  • Assist with database development and management
  • Collaborate with the operations team to design reports that track various research activities including enrollment, study completion, missing data, and participant drop-out rates
  • Create summary reports and interactive charts and dashboards of EMR/EMA data
  • Facilitate open science data-sharing initiatives centered around the EMR and EMA
  • Format, design, and build online forms using EMR template editor based in Microsoft SQL coding
  • Work with collaborating researchers to carry out data-analysis that include EMR outputs
  • Assist with data analysis for research projects and publications

Other tasks as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Neuroscience, Engineering, or other related scientific fields
  • Proficiency SQL required
  • Proficiency in R and/or python is required
  • Working knowledge of RedCap is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication, and the ability to work as a member of a team, as well as independently.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Prior clinical and/or research experience is required (human subjects research preferred)
