Position summary:
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for acquiring and maintaining clinical sites for our associate degree nursing program. They will prepare, place, monitor, supervise, and evaluate students’ clinical experiences. This position will serve to align clinical placement with appropriate clinical agencies and units by level. This position will be responsible for gathering and providing all onboarding clinical agency requirements for each student prior to the start of the clinical rotation. Responsible for ensuring all students have provided the school of nursing all required documents: immunizations, Negative drug screen, back ground check, current CPR, and a complete physical examination.
Position responsibilities:
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible to:
- Organize and follow up on the activities of the clinical sites and the students’ attendance and requirements at each site and will provide summary reports on adherence to appropriate standards of care,
- Assist with clinical operating guideline development
- Assist with student compliance for clinical internships
- Assist with projects, research, and studies by organizing, retrieving, and filing case review data
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Hold a current license of privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
- Familiar with clinical placement for nursing schools/students.
- Familiar with the Rules and Regulations set forth by the Texas Board of Nursing, Rule 215.
- A minimum of 3 years of nursing associated work experience.
- Willing to work within the philosophical framework of Kilgore College Nursing Program.
- Works effectively within a group or independently. Student oriented and able to meet deadlines.
- Keeps abreast of current trends in education, nursing practice, and skills lab activities to improve student learning.
- Creates climate conducive to student learning and peer relationships. Maintains professional relationships with peers, colleagues and students.
- Willing to be an active member of college committees and functions.
- Evaluates the learning situation and implements decisions in the best interest of the students.

- The 12-month salary for this position is $44,618.
