Clinical Coordinator (Clinical Education)

PRIMARY FUNCTION : The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant's primary functions are teaching, serving as a student preceptor, advising students, and assisting with curriculum design, program development, and maintenance of accreditation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Teach assigned courses in areas of content expertise to a diverse student population of non-traditional adult learning using a hybrid format. (60%)
• Serve as preceptor at Level I and Level II Fieldwork sites (20%)
• Serve as faculty advisor for students as assigned (10% of time)
• Assist Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Program Director in program related tasks, e.g., accreditation reports, program evaluation & outcomes (10%)
• Work collaboratively with individuals both internal and external to the organization, college and department.

Interacts with students, co-workers, visitors, and other individuals consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Qualifications
RE REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING):

• Initial certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Current Pennsylvania OTA license (or eligible) Bachelor's Degree preferred (in any field)
• Minimum of five years of experience in as an occupational therapy assistant.
• Experience as fieldwork educator to Level I and/or Level II occupational therapy students preferred.
• Previous experience in teaching (e.g., adjunct, teaching assistant, guest lecture) preferred.
• Familiarity with ACOTE Standards for Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and curriculum development.
• Excellent communication & organizational skills
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit
• Clear commitment to non-traditional forms of education

AD ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Ability to meet OTA Program schedule (night/weekend hybrid class with additional daytime meeting responsibilities)
