POSITION SUMMARY:
This highly responsible administrative and professional nursing position coordinates efforts to ensure the organization's quality assurance and performance improvement program is planned, integrated, and managed at the branch level for the assigned region. Under the guidance of the VP of Clinical Services the incumbent shall utilize a data driven focus that sets priorities for improvements to include operational efficiencies aligned to regulatory requirements and strategic initiatives. This position requires collection, aggregation and analysis of data obtained through completion of focused reviews and observations to identify and correct areas of risk, non-compliance, or knowledge deficit among teams. Effective communication at all levels within the organization is essential. This will include accurate documentation, and feedback and education to staff. Works closely with leaders in other departments to increase team efficiency, advance patient outcomes, and improve overall delivery of care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains current knowledge of UEWH policies and procedures and state regulations for their assigned region's states, and accrediting body standards to meet regulatory compliance.
  2. Works directly with the VP of Clinical Services, branch leadership and clinical teams to implement and facilitate a quality management and improvement system that leads to positive measurable improvements and regulatory compliance. 
  3. Work to create and maintain structure of sustainability.           
  4. Increase the organization's capacity to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of services, practices, and adherence with regulatory requirements.
  5. Develop data reporting and documentation processes to include data collection, aggregation, analysis, and timely reporting.
  6. Perform internal audits, facilitate corrective action for external audits.
  7. Develops and conducts training on clinical quality service delivery topics with clinical teams.  Conducts evaluations on impact of training on improvement of processes and services.  Obtains and disseminates literature on best practices and relevant quality of care topics to branch leadership and clinical teams.
  8. Assist Senior Director of Education to provide education to address individual employee or group specific deficits.
  9. Stay current of technological and informational requirements of care, documentation, and communication including new software and hardware innovations.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of all office and client records per HIPAA and Privacy Act regulations.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position may require occasional traveling between locations in your personal vehicle

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory requirements.

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing and be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  2. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle check.
  3. Must have active CPR certification.
  4. Minimum 3 years' experience in Department of Labor nursing, hospice and/or home health.
  5. Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines, such as HIPAA
  6. Strong attention to detail
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  11. Must pass a criminal background check.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone, keyboard, reach, stoop and kneel.
  3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  4. Regular, predictable attendance is required as business demands dictate.
