SUMMARY: Bleuler Psychotherapy Center (BPC), a growing organization providing whole person care in the region, is in search of passionate individuals to join our rapidly growing team! We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinic Supervisor to lead and optimize the performance of our healthcare providers. Reporting to the Director of Clinic Operations, the Clinic Supervisor has overall clinical and some administrative responsibility for one of Bleuler Psychotherapy NYS-licensed Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Service (MHOTRS-article 31) program located in Jackson Heights, Queens. The Clinic Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day running and supervision of the Jackson Height clinic in accordance with all program goals, targets, performance outcomes and program policies, procedures, and protocols.
The position requires the Clinic Supervisor to not only have clinical operations and managerial experience, but also to adapt to the evolving MHOTRS structure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Practice and Administrative
  • Support recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making, and collaboration. Utilize evidence-based practices; always embracing a trauma-informed and person-centered approach.
  • Ensures appropriate training and supervision for clinicians and interns.
  • Assure that the quality of clinical services is maintained through individual and group supervision.
  • Assure that performance reviews are completed annually for staff under direct supervision, including establishing specific, individual professional development goals.
  • Run, analyze, and utilize data driven reports in supervision to monitor performance and assure real time changes services.
  • Assure compliance with all regulatory and billing requirements and timeliness and quality of all Clinician work products.
  • Ensure that clinical records are accurate, current, and meet the Office of Mental Health licensing regulations.
  • Monitor clinicians’ schedules and PTO requests to ensure that the clinic always has adequate coverage.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed, including being part of the after-hour emergency phone coverage.
  • Responsible for sharing rotation of on-call supervisor for all programs and have direct or collaborative oversight of Interns.
  • Conduct client utilization review as part of weekly supervision to ensure that all clients are receiving treatment that is medically necessary.
  • Review all reports of suspected abuse or neglect of vulnerable adults or minors and ensure all propriate actions are taken. Inform Director of Clinic Operations and Compliance Officer if reports involve alleged maltreatment by staff, students, or volunteers.
  • Assure that quality improvement projects are implemented and monitored.
  • Review all incident reports. Consider actions to be taken and implement changes to avoid similar incidents in the future.
  • Inform the Director of Clinic Operations and Compliance Officer in a timely manner of all relevant clinical and liability issues and make recommendations for any changes in procedures.
  • Collaborate on the development, update and revision of policies and procedures specific to programs with current regulations and upholding Bleuler’s core values.
  • Participate in internal and external committees and management team meetings.
  • Provide back-up clinical care to patients when assigned clinician is unavailable, including group(s) coverage.
  • Carry a caseload of approximately 20 patients as program builds. Facilitate group sessions.
  • Collaborate with the billing department to address failed claims activity and/or patients’ arrears.
Consultation and Education
  • Provide consultation about clinical and administrative issues to other resources as requested.
  • Provide leadership about in-service training offered to staff, assuring that it meets licensure standards and clinical needs.
Planning and Community Organizing
  • Use good judgment and maintain effective boundaries when sharing information about company with county staff, other providers, and members of the community.
  • Attend various community meetings and report relevant information to the Director of Clinic Operations.
  • Participate in and actively support community advisory committees.
  • Participate in community needs assessments. Implement and maintain a variety of procedures to evaluate programs and services.
  • Be available to offer leadership and cooperation to consumers and community providers in the development of value-based Services.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must hold Master Degree in Social Work. Licensed as an LCSW, or LCSW-R in NYS.
  • Must have three years clinical experience with an emphasis in working with clients who have mental health, and or dually diagnosed disease disorders.
  • Have five years of supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of working with mental illnesses in children, adolescents, and the adult population.
  • Knowledge and fluency with EHR modules and reports.
  • Familiarity with computer technology including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, and typing of documents.
  • Must be sensitive to cultural, religious, racial, disability and gender issues.
  • Must have knowledge of HIPAA regulations, all federal & NYS State patient privacy regulations/laws, and health information-applicable state regulations.
  • Must demonstrate ability to develop, evaluate, and act on analytical information.
  • Proficient in computer technology and ability to learn applications needed for recordkeeping and generating reports.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • Strict compliance with OMH requirements for operation of a NYS licensed MHOTRS program.
  • Knowledge of the Office of Mental Health Part 599 regulations, and directives for licensed MHOTRS program.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Bleuler Psychotherapy Center guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the billing department to address failed claims activity and/or patients’ arrears.
  • Provide counseling, motivation, coaching/ discipline for staff under direct supervision.
  • Safeguard the physical safety of personnel, patients, and guests at the facility.
SALARY RANGE: $80,000-$95,000/annual
