Functional Position Title CLINIC OPERATIONS COORDINATOR Position Number 00034294 Appointment Type Regular Location-City New Orleans School/Division ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS Department LSUNO A/H-Administration Position Summary The Coordinator of Allied Health Billing & Clinic Operations is responsible for the overall managerial and reimbursement operations of the LSU Health Science Center, School of Allied Health Professions Faculty Group Practice, a Medicare licensed rehabilitation agency. The primary functional areas for which the incumbent is responsible for include provide practice management support, resources, training, and be the liaison between the LSU Healthcare Network and the clinics/departments within the group practice. The incumbent is expected to monitor the daily CLINIC OPERATIONS, provide customer service when needed, and supervise all personnel performing these duties. Working closely with the LSU Healthcare Network, this person is to ensure practice & billing compliance as well as implement innovative quality changes where identifiable within the clinics. The incumbent should be well versed in practice operations where insurance billing is the large majority. The incumbent will also handle all contract, professional service, and seminar invoicing for the departments and ensure monthly reporting/distribution is complete. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing internal quality assurance and audits.
The faculty group practice of Allied Health Professionals is a multi-specialty group that includes but is not limited to, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Audiologists and Psychologists/Counselors. The incumbent will serve as the primary contact/liaison for the LSU Healthcare Network and Acadiana Computer Systems, and/or the external billing company that the school is contracted with. Experience in medical coding and/or billing is a plus. Experience in credentialing providers is a plus. Experience in DME billing is a plus. Experience in understanding and interpreting CMS guidelines is a plus.
This position will be a part of the School of Allied Health's Administration team.

Certifications/Licenses Required Indicate the minimum number of years required to do the job Three Indicate the type of experience required to do the job Patient and insurance billing, clinic/practice office management Indicate if any combination of specific experience, training and education may be substituted for the required education or experience Either CPC or CCS with 3 additional years of related experience in a clinical practice setting may be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
