Form of workWe are seeking a full time Occupational Therapist for the Article 16 Clinic. Block Institute's Article 16 Clinic is devoted to facilitating habilitative growth of individuals who are cognitively, physically, emotionally, and/or developmentally disabled. Our professional service team executes a whole person approach, providing consideration of all facts in a person's life, developing specialized treatment planning based on individual needs. Following a comprehensive evaluation of diagnosis impacting skills and abilities, we offer a full range of clinical services.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment, consultation and guidance with regard to occupational therapy services provided.
- Conduct evaluations and develop appropriate therapeutic programs in response to individual need.
- Develop appropriate occupational therapy program protocols in response to identified needs in accordance with clinic operations.
- Facilitates occupation therapy oversight to other Occupational Therapist providing treatment to service recipients.
- Maintain a minimum caseload of occupational therapy service recipients.
- Monitor and record progress of each service recipient treatment and/or therapeutic feeding services. Monitoring will be done as required by OPWDD regulations and/or Agency policy.
- Participates as a member of the clinic's quality assurance team in conducting chart reviews and other internal monitoring activities to ensure quality of care and compliance with regulatory and agency policies and practices.
- Provide training in implementation of occupational therapy services/goals.
Qualifications
Qualifications
New York State Occupational Therapy License
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
Experience with the Developmentally Disabled population is preferred
Vaccination against COVID is required.
