The Clinic Care Assistant participates in the care of patients in a clinic setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patient in rooms, preparing patients and families for exams/procedures, and providing patient/family support. The Clinic Care Assistant assists the nursing staff and health care provider(s) during exams and simple and complex procedures. The Clinic Care Assistant ensures appropriate visit notes and that tests and/or X-ray results are available for visits. Performs clinic-specific technical skills. Maintains clinic environment, including supplies and equipment. May be required to float to other ACU clinics, as needed, for staffing.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- State of Florida CNA certification required. May substitute one of the following for CNA certification:
- Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for preparation of professional nurses - upon successful completion of the didactic and clinical portion of nursing fundamental coursework and successful completion of the departmental PCA check-off.
- Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for preparation of licensed practical nurses - upon successful completion of the didactic and clinical portion of nursing fundamental coursework and successful completion of the departmental PCA check-off.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first month of employment.
- Person should display initiative, have the ability to multitask and be able to take on responsibilities.
- Proven ability to problem solve and be a team member are essential skills.
- Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
- Successful completion of practice-specific training requirements and demonstration of practice-specific competencies.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a CNA.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) is required or must be obtained within first month of employment.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
