Under the general direction of the SCM Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the supervision of personnel in the Specimen Collection and Management division of the ZSFG Clinical Laboratory. This includes specimen processing, telephone inquiry and phlebotomy. Responsible for managing and coaching a team of hospital laboratory technicians in a fast-paced environment; maintain adequate staffing levels by scheduling coverage and evaluating workload for 24 hour/7 day operation; assist in updating existing procedures and teaching procedures to employees; assist with quality assurance and performance/process improvement. Collaborate and coordinate with all divisions of the Clinical Laboratory and with all related services at ZSFG, affiliated Hospitals, health centers, clinics and out-reach clients. Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
