The Climber/Prunerunder supervision, performs all types of work required for the planting, maintenance, and removal of trees and large shrubs. Performs related work.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Climbs, prunes, braces, cuts, and fells trees and large shrubs.
- Sprays trees and large shrubs to protect them against insects, fungi or other parasites and disease.
- Plants, transplants, and cares for trees and large shrubs.
- May perform tree inspection work as required.
- Operates manual and power-driven equipment in the performance of the above duties and operates cars, trucks, and other motorized equipment incidental to the performance of the above duties.
Requirements:
- Six months of satisfactory, full-time experience as a climber pruner or arborist performing all types of tree work
- The planting, maintenance, and removal of trees and large shrubs, including climbing, pruning, bracing, cutting, and felling trees and large shrubs.
- Operating manual, power-driven, and motorized equipment for the performance of these duties
- Experience as a ground person is not acceptable towards meeting this requirement.
License Requirements:
- A motor vehicle driver's license valid in the State of New York
- Within one year of appointment, employees must possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License valid in the State of New York; the Class B Commercial Driver's License must be maintained for the duration of this employment.
- With one year of appointment, employee must obtain ISA Certification, which must be maintained for the duration of this appointment.
