Job Title:Clerkship Director for Obstetrics/Gynecology (RMS Campus, Ft Pierce–Medicine - OPS)

Responsibilities

Student Program:

  • Responsible for the implementation of the medical school’s student education program in their required clerkships for the Regional Campus.
  • Identify and assure an adequate patient base for education.
  • Assign students to the various components of the educational program.
  • Monitor student performance and assures that educational objectives of College of Medicine for their required clerkships are met by each student.
  • Monitor student progress and assures that midterm and final student evaluations are completed on time and results communicated to the students and the University.
  • Serve as student advisor.
  • Has knowledge of and complies with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and FSU College of Medicine policies.


Faculty:

  • Responsible for all aspects of Regional Campus faculty participating in educational program in their clerkship.
  • Recruit qualified faculty.
  • Provide feedback to the Regional Campus Dean regarding faculty performance.
  • Assure that contractual commitments are fulfilled by faculty.
  • Assign faculty to teaching program.
  • Participate and encourage faculty involvement in continuing medical education and faculty development programs.
  • Participate as needed in other activities to support the clinical education program.


Academic:

  • Assume responsibility for maintaining academic standards in the community.
  • Participates in the development, evaluation, and implementation of curriculum.
  • Solicit faculty input into curriculum.
  • Participate in Doctoring 3 sessions and other educational activities as required (e.g., structured clinical exams).


Administration:

  • Attend regional campus Clerkship Director and student orientation meetings as required.
  • Attend two annual Clerkship Director meetings in Orlando and Tallahassee, one annual regional campus education director meeting, and three regional campus events per year.


Research:

  • Encourage faculty involvement in community-based research.
Qualifications
  • Medical doctor fully licensed to practice in the state of Florida.
  • Board certification.
  • Must support the mission of the college to educate and develop exemplary physicians who practice patient-centered health care, discover and advance knowledge and are responsive to community needs especially through service to elder, rural, minority, and underserved populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical student education experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records.

Anticipated Salary Range

Up to $67,500 to commensurate with education and experience.
