Supervisor: Director of Nutrition Services
Terms of Employment: 240 days
Job Summary:
The individual will be responsible for assisting the bookkeeper in managing vendor invoices, USDA commodities and other procurement tasks.
Essential Duties
- Create purchase orders for the nutrition office as needed.
- Complete requisitions.
- Review invoices for signatures, discrepancies, and stamp with payable account numbers
- Compare vendor invoice pricing to contract pricing.
- Process USDA commodity foods including distribution, invoicing and all communications concerning billing and any discrepancies with deliveries. SCAPS and Goldstar programs.
- Work with any other government provided funding for food or supplies.
- Process meal applications, if applicable. Communicate with parents regarding student information.
- Attend Staff development training days and managers meetings.
- Assist managers with questions concerning invoices/commodities.
- Assist with food production or any catering functions required of the department. Occasional work after hours.
- Assist with answering department phones.
- Retrieve mail and separate accordingly.
- Assist Bookkeeper with any additional tasks necessary.
- Obtain a SERV Safe/HACCP certificate within 6 months of hire date.
Other Duties
Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Nutrition.
Job Specifications
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required)
- High School Diploma
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Basic Computer Skills required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- Must have good communication skills and pleasing personality.

- Manual dexterity for the purpose of using a telephone and data entry.
- Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids.
- Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; and
- Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
