Job Description
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will assemble orders and prepare parts and supplies for shipment. This individual will receive and unpack incoming packages and freight.
The Equipment Support Technician will verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.
Responsibilities
- Picking, packaging, and shipping of any outgoing orders, including proper shipping method and required documentation
- Sort incoming packages and freight and distributing to appropriate accepted areas by company
- Verify that all incoming materials are accurate compared to the Purchase Order and submit initialed Packing Slip to Administration
- Direct involvement in stock maintenance, inventories, and receiving/packaging/stocking parts into inventory and updating computer systems accordingly
- Pull parts from inventory, pack and ship as needed
- Performing weekly cycle counts of inventory
- Label & organize existing inventory and new inventory as created
- Unpack/Pack external/internal processed product, clean, pack, label and store as necessary
- Handle questions, concerns or issues regarding shipments.
- Weigh containers/drums of materials when as needed.
- Complete/process bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Correctly label drums/containers.
- Complete/process bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Attach documentation to drums/containers (e.g., Certificate of Analysis, SDS) for shipment
- Keep work areas clean.
- Taking a proactive approach to solving process or system related problems and coordinating with other team members/departments when necessary for resolution of problems.
- Comply with OSHA, health, safety and environment requirements.
- May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- 1+ years of experience working with shipping, receiving and logistics
- Forklift certification and/or rigging skills preferred
- Strong listening and communication skills; verbal and written skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement Methodologies
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated self-starter
- Ability to work across cultures and departments
- Ability to exercise leadership without authority
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Manufacturing ERPs (Job Boss)
Physical Requirements
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. May be required to move, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and/or complete repetitive motions during course of work.
