JOB TITLE:
Clerical Receptionist I
DEPARTMENT:
Pension (Las Vegas)
REPORTS TO:
Tracy Thompson
JOB DUTIES:
Provide services for the Claims, Contribution Accounting or Pension Department.
Responsibilities include:
- Answering phone calls; greeting, identifying, and assigning participant/retiree inquiries to appropriate departmental staff.
- Opening, date stamping, logging, counting and distributing mail within the department on a daily basis.
- Coordinating appointments with pension processors; performing clerical duties as required (typing, filing, copying, microfilm and microfiche research, etc.).
- Keeping reception area stocked with forms and booklets.
- Assisting retirees with address changes, stop payment orders, and direct deposit inquiries.
- Assist in completion of income forms from various agencies.
- Assists in processing of Annual Certification Letters.
- Cuts checks.
- Document ETK system as required.
- Must meet the department's quality and production standards for this job, as provided on the work standards grid.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education & Experience
- HS or GED.
- Minimum of one year experience as a Receptionist in a professional office.
- Bilingual required.
Mental/Visual Concentration or Manual Dexterity
Requires normal concentration easily learned, simple movements
Computer Operations
- Must be PC literate.
- General knowledge of MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Typing score of 35 WPM general knowledge of 10-key.
Physical Work Environment
- Normal degree of physical effort in typical office environment with comfortable, constant temperatures and absence of objectionable elements
- May be subject to interruptions
- May be required to lift a maximum of 25 lbs
- Meets established attendance and punctuality guidelines
