What Your Job Will Be Like We are excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced SCI-cleared systems engineer to join our team in designing and integrating key systems for global GEOINT capabilities. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong background in conducting and supporting analysis of remote sensing systems data, algorithm development, electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensor characterization, and modeling & simulation.

You will to meet mission requirements and conduct mission data analysis to quantify/qualify system capabilities for our DOD and IC partners. As a successful candidate, you will communicate with mission stakeholders to understand key requirements and capabilities gaps of our current systems. You will work with many elements of Sandia National Laboratories, federal agencies, and defense industry partners, delivering quality technical analyses and products, presenting them to colleagues and customers, and working well in a team environment.

Qualifications We Require Master's degree in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field plus four (4) or more years of relevant experience.

A minimum of four (4) years of experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar languages for developing of analysis tools for the national security environment. Active DOE Q/SCI, DOD TS/SCI, or equivalent or higher clearance with the ability to maintain said clearance. Familiarity with EO/IR remote sensing phenomenology.

Qualifications We Desire Experience with systems engineering and requirements verification. Experience with image and/or signal processing and analysis. Experience with Matlab, Python or C++ for support of analysis software.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the development and delivery of presentations, proposals, and reports. Demonstrated ability to succeed in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team. Familiarity with multi-physics analysis/simulation of sensing instrument performance.

Creative technical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong social skills, including effective leadership, teamwork, and collaboration. Interest in continued learning and expansion of technical capabilities.

About Our Team The Mission Engineering and Geospatial Analytics System Program Office (MEGASPO) supports many DOD and IC customers to design and integrate key national systems that strengthen national security. Working with partners across 6300 and the Sandia, 6341 is responsible for providing assessments of critical needs and deployment of capabilities to close those gaps. Posting Duration This posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days, including the 'posting date'.

Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time. Security Clearance Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) SCI security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI access, both of which require US citizenship. SCI access may also require a polygraph examination.

If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain these levels of access may be impacted. Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance.

Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by the DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.
