ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

In performing functions, duties, or tasks, employees are required to know and follow safe work practices and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. Employees are required to notify superiors upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.

All functions, duties, or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical, and professional manner and are to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

1. Utilizes software, systems and equipment for badging and access control, including issuance and tracking of all badges and passes, and terminating badges and access as required.

2. Provides employee and authorized visitor physical access for unclassified and classified controlled areas.

3. Responsible for system set up and configuration of badge readers.

4. Generates all Employee and Long-Term Visitor identification badges for the site.

5. Maintains non‐escort visitor database.

6. Maintains computerized access control system, supporting remote sites.

7. Utilizes Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) to validate Department of Defense (DOD) security clearances for badging purposes.

8. Runs reports and metrics from the system and provided data to the area custodian. Required to provide the client with the data collection, reports, charts and graphs.

9. Works with Site Compliance Office in regards to all Non‐US citizens visiting the site and the processing of paperwork associated with the Non‐US citizen visitors.

10. Backs up the service counter in the Badge Control office, during high traffic hours of Badge Control.

11. Maintains logs data and files as required by the department/client. Processing of paperwork required by the client to attempt to retrieve non‐accounted for badges from employees that have left the facility.

12. Interacts with the site Security and Facilities groups for event planning.

13. May interact with vendors for badge system template design, screen layouts and system software requirements to maintain standards.

14. Will be trained on the designing of templates and system configuration required for manufacturing badges.

15. Performs a variety of office administrative functions, such as preparing correspondence and reports, processing mail, telephone and in‐person reception, and filing.

16. Schedules meetings and conferences and assists with travel reservations.

17. Provides an atmosphere in which all client employees and visitors know that the client responds to and cares about their needs; provides courteous, respectful and pleasant interaction with each client employee and visitor as perceived from their point of view; presents a good image of the client and its security department.

18. Communicates in a manner that is open, honest, and responsive in all situations; to the extent authorize, provides information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors.

19. Any additional duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position.

Basic Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have and maintain a Security Officer Certification for the state in which assigned.

Ability to acquire and maintain the required level of Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance. Citizens of the United States preferred.

Ability to acquire and maintain all other site‐specific special clearances/access requirements (Department of Energy (DOE), Special Access Program (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)).

Must have and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license if required.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or G.E.D

Related experience preferred

Background Prerequisites

Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements.

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)

Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.

Must be able to meet and continue to meet any Company or client‐required training standards.

Must be able to meet and continue to meet certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.

Ability to, hear, speak, and write fluently in English in order to communicate with employees and clients. Hearing and comprehension must be at normal range levels.

Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.

Ability to be an effective team member.

Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.

Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.

Good organizational skills.

Ability to provide high quality customer service.

Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures. Courteous telephone manner.

Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Intermediate skills in keyboarding, computer usage, and operating controls.

Knowledge of and ability to learn computer systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands)

With or without reasonable accommodation, requires the physical and mental capacity to perform effectively all essential functions. In addition to other demands, the demands of the job include:

Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.

May be required to work overtime without advance notice.

Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for up to 8 hours per day and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain. Must be physically fit to: stand/sit for a minimum of eight (8) hours, climb stairs, and walk at least five (5) continuous miles without difficulty. Local waiver may be granted to allow 180 days to comply.

Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.

Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Have at least 20/40 vision or wear corrective lenses correcting vision to that standard.

Be free of color blindness, have normal fields of vision and depth perceptions, and be without conditions that would interfere with the performance of duties.

Be able to hear and understand at normal range levels.

May be required to use vehicle in the performance of duties. Vehicles are to include but not limited to cars, trucks, electric carts, and bicycles.

On occasion may be required to perform stressful physical activity.

Depending upon assignment may be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and devices and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others.

May be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information.
