The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Summary

Under limited supervision, will provide Customer satisfaction through conformance validation of products. Has working knowledge of Chemicals and how they react together.   

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates equipment to produce parts that meet customer specifications. 
  • Maintains that correct parts and documents are delivered to the Customer.
  • Maintains adequate statistical sampling
  • Completes all paper or computer-based reporting on jobs or parts as required in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identifies and communicates opportunities to improve manufacturing processes in support of efforts to increase standardization, reduce costs, reduce cycle times, improve safety etc.
  • Cleans and organizes workstations, equipment and tools.
  • Operates all equipment and performs all activities according to established safety standards in support of Morgan’s zero injury goal.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machines/equipment.  Identifies and relates repair needs to maintenance/supervision.
  • Treats all other employees with dignity and respect; communicates in a positive and constructive manner to solve problems in a team environment.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

 

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills

  • Knowledge of safety policies, procedures and safe working practices.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Knowledge of Morgan ‘s Quality Systems and Policy and ISO Requirements.
  • Basic Knowledge of drawing and tolerancing standards
  • Basic Microsoft Word, and Excel skills helpful.
  • Verbal, written and listening communication skills.
  • Organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Typically stands and moves about for entire work shift to operate equipment and fulfil job responsibilities. Includes walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, reaching, squatting, pushing, and pulling and repetitive hand, arm, wrist and leg motions.
  • Manual dexterity and good eyesight required to produce parts.
  • Frequently talks to and listens to co-workers and supervisors regarding product status and issues. Communication is face to face or via telephone.
  • Maintains a friendly, stable, cooperative demeanour.
  • Typically monitors equipment for effectiveness by observing operations, viewing monitors and distinguishing changes in equipment noise.
  • Constantly monitors product quality through visual inspection of parts.
  • Frequently transports products from and to production areas with weight of up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly uses industrial chemicals and materials such as Solvents/Acids and Nickel-Plating solutions for cleaning and processing parts.
  • Constantly uses required personal protective safety equipment including eye protection and hearing protection (as required).
  • Frequently enters or retrieves data from a computer station requiring the operation of a keyboard, mouse, bar coding wand and use of a monitor.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.

  • Filter Changes for Plating
  • Stripping of Plating Tanks
  • Grit/bead blast operation
  • Clean room set up/shutdown
  • Dryer box use
  • Skutt Kiln Firing
  • Apply decals and Fasteners
  • Ability to use small hand tools
  • Blood valve final clean
  • Sciex critical clean Rods
  • Assist in Laser
  • Assist in Assembly
  • Run CNC Servo in Paint Room
  • Load/unload applicable furnaces

 

Hourly Rate:  $20.00 to $23.00 (DOE)
