Cleaning Technician

Ovipost grows crickets and superworms in Canton, Mississippi for animal feed. We are looking for help with general cleanliness and farm sanitation.

Ovipost designs automated, scalable insect farming systems. We are a team of farmers, engineers, biologists, and creative problem-solvers with a passion for insects and the environment.

Our mission is to reduce carbon emissions and protect critical ecosystems while enhancing food security. Our insects consume agricultural byproducts and generate highly nutritious protein that can be used in a variety of food and feed applications. Ovipost’s current facilities in Florida and Mississippi grow crickets and superworms for use in pet food.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keeping the work and employee areas clean including the shipping area, bathrooms, and other inside spaces.
• Cleaning farm materials and spaces in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions. This includes washing water buckets and washing bins that are used for growing insects.
• Ability to safely use cleaning products and chemicals in both indoor and outdoor environments

BENEFITS

• Starting pay from $12.00 to $12.50 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS

• Are at least 18 years old
• Ability to stand on your feet for 8 hours a day
• Lift and move 50 lbs, push, pull, squat, bend and reach with or without reasonable accommodation
• Strong attention to safety and cleanliness standards
• Ability to work in outdoor environments in both hot and cold weather conditions
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Highly organized
• Team-oriented attitude
• Good communication skills
• Not afraid to ask questions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (90% of working shift)
